Summary

With his family gathered around him, Naruto finally opens his eyes in the hospital, and Boruto hurries off to share the news with Kawaki. Katasuke suspects the boy's pain comes from an altered body that keeps rejecting the prosthetic arm it cannot channel chakra through, though Kawaki turns down Sumire's painkillers. The scientist admits he simply does not understand the boy well enough to treat him. Shikamaru then briefs the recovering Naruto, warning that even a clean rescue cannot excuse how recklessly the young genin acted, and that Jigen can still slip back in through Kawaki's Kama.

Elsewhere, Koji and Amado get ready to depart. When Delta appears demanding to know why they would move without Jigen's approval, Amado simply speaks a shutdown phrase and drops her where she stands, leaving Koji to wonder whether the same trigger lives inside him. Amado rides Koji's summoned toad toward the edge of Konohagakure while Koji returns to Kara's base. Meanwhile, Sarada recounts the fight to Sakura and Sasuke and voices her worry about how Boruto changed mid-battle, and Mitsuki privately relays to Sasuke that Boro named Boruto a vessel for Momoshiki.

At a training ground, Amado compliments Team 10 and asks to speak with Shikamaru. When Shikadai tries to bind him with a shadow technique, Amado turns a tuning-fork device against the jutsu, sedates the boy, and clamps a collar around his throat. Once Ino relays that a self-proclaimed Kara agent has fixed a bomb to her son, Sai and Moegi move in. Moegi pins Amado with earth-based jutsu, but he shows on a nearby tree what the collar can do and reveals it will detonate within forty-eight hours unless he defuses it. Freed at Sai's order, Amado apologises for the theatrics and insists there is no time to waste. Patched through to Shikamaru, he explains he has come to surrender to Konoha, offering intelligence on Kara, Jigen, the Ten-Tails, and the Otsutsuki in exchange for asylum, and is startled to learn Naruto has already been brought home safely.

Key Events

Naruto regains consciousness under his family's watch, and Shikamaru cautions that the threat remains active through Kawaki's Kama. Amado defects from Kara, shutting down Delta with a command word before parting ways with Koji. Sasuke and Mitsuki weigh Boro's claim that Boruto is Momoshiki's vessel against the mystery of who inhabits Jigen. Amado seizes Shikadai, rigs him with an explosive collar to guarantee an audience, and lays out his terms: protection for Konoha in return for everything he knows about the organisation.

Notes

This installment belongs to the Kawaki Arc and was collected in volume 12. In one panel, Shikadai is drawn without the bomb collar at the moment Moegi restrains Amado, an inconsistency with the rest of the sequence.
