Confrontation!!

Himawari looks on as Kawaki fumbles at mending her broken flower vase, brushing the effort aside even as she insists a replacement would have satisfied her. Spying through a summoned toad, Koji Kashin decides that meddling under the Hokage's protection would be reckless, and in any case he would rather watch how the bond between Kawaki and Boruto develops. Out of patience, Delta releases a chakra-free drone that the Yamanaka sensors cannot detect and sets it hunting for Kawaki.

With Naruto overseeing them, Boruto and Kawaki trade insults and then switch on their Kama to spar, cheered by Himawari as Naruto explains Kawaki's engineered body. Testing his absorption, Kawaki fires on Boruto, who slips the first shot but hurts his hand catching the second. When Naruto has them close with the Seal of Reconciliation, both feel their marks flare and Boruto glimpses a vision of Momoshiki, only for his wound to knit shut. That rapid healing troubles Koji, who wonders whether Boruto shares Jigen's power.

Delta abandons her drone and rockets through the village on her leg jets to seize Kawaki herself. Ino senses the intruder and alerts Naruto, who forbids mobilizing the military police and vows to handle her alone. Sensing danger, Naruto tells Boruto to spirit Himawari to safety and braces for combat, while Delta touches down wondering how to punish Kawaki this time.

The thirtieth chapter of the Boruto series ran in Japan on January 22, 2019, and is collected in volume 8 within the Kawaki arc. Viz Media published it as Face-to-Face!!.
