Code marvels at how Boruto channels his Kama, puzzled that Momoshiki's will can surface while Boruto stays a mere vessel, yet Boruto remains himself and warns Kawaki to keep clear. Boruto's shadow clones hit harder than expected, so Code brands him with a claw mark to teleport around the assault, only for Boruto to yank him through his own mark and land a blow. Consulting Ada, Code hears that Amado's medicines may explain the shift and is cautioned not to take Boruto lightly.

Back in the village, Naruto has Ino track Boruto's chakra rather than Kawaki's, and Shikamaru insists on joining him now that Kurama's strength is gone, with Sasuke off chasing Code and Sai guarding Amado. Naruto asks Hinata to remain with Himawari, reassures his daughter, and enters Sage Mode. Kawaki meanwhile explains that the iron in Code's blood-laced marks makes them too solid for Kama to absorb.

Code reasons that no drug can erase the Otsutsuki within Boruto, prized as a sacrifice for a fine God Tree, and schemes to seize him once he matures while grabbing Kawaki for Ada. Kawaki's clone forces Code to dodge a Rasengan, and he admits everything he does is for Naruto. As Naruto's Sage Mode locates Boruto beside an unknown chakra, Code narrowly escapes a Vanishing Rasengan, until Boruto abruptly buckles in pain.

The sixty-fourth Boruto chapter appeared in Japan in January 2022 and is collected in volume 17 within the Code's Assault arc. Its title kanji, ordinarily read as shihai, are given the reading kontororu. Viz Media kept the title Control.
