Naruto Uzumaki!! (chapter 700)

A decade and a half after the Fourth Shinobi World War, the five great nations have settled into lasting peace. Shino Aburame now teaches at the Academy, where his students, Boruto Uzumaki chief among them, show him little respect. Hinata visits Neji's grave with her daughter Himawari, Rock Lee drills his son Metal Lee, and Tenten runs a weapons shop of her own. Gaara reaches Konohagakure for the upcoming Kage Summit and reunites with his sister Temari alongside her and Shikamaru's boy, Shikadai.

Kiba passes the time with Tamaki and an elderly Akamaru, while Ino, Sai, Choji, and Karui wait outside the Academy to collect their children and begin shaping the next Ino-Shika-Cho trio. Kurenai's daughter Mirai honors her late father, and Kakashi and Might Guy each dwell on old memories in their own corners of the world.

Four of the former five Kage, Tsunade, Mei Terumi, the Fourth Raikage, and Onoki, gather at Onoki's home in Iwagakure. In Konoha, Udon and Moegi report to the current Hokage that his son has vandalized the Hokage Rock. Naruto hurries off to rein in the boy's mischief, and both Iruka and Konohamaru remark on how alike father and son are. Watching Boruto's behavior across the day, Sarada, the daughter of Sakura and Sasuke, recognizes a shared thread in how the two boys feel about their fathers.

Sasuke, still roaming distant lands, keeps his family in Konohagakure close in thought even from afar. As Naruto joins the assembled Kage to open their meeting, Kurama, its two halves at last made whole again, rests peacefully within his mind.

This installment serves as an epilogue set well after chapter 699 and the events of The Last: Naruto the Movie, the latter treated as chapter 699.5. Unlike every other chapter, it first appeared in full color rather than black and white, with Artra Entertainment, the team behind the Naruto: Color Edition re-release, helping meet the deadline. Its closing page deliberately echoes the series' opening one, the first recounting how Kurama came to be sealed in Naruto and the last recounting the life that carried him to the seat of Seventh Hokage.

On Naruto's carved face, Boruto paints the Straw Hat Pirates' jolly roger, a nod to Eiichiro Oda's One Piece; Oda returned the gesture on the cover of his own chapter 766 and thanked Kishimoto in that week's author comments. Fellow Weekly Shonen Jump creators likewise offered their goodbyes as Kishimoto wrapped up the manga.
