Time Drawing Near

Boruto keeps pretending Momoshiki is not present while Kawaki insists he show himself, and the noise draws Sarada and Sumire over. Sarada argues there can be no infighting on a mission, but Kawaki fires back that the Ōtsutsuki care nothing for missions, with Daemon agreeing and Ada looking on. Shikamaru orders Kawaki to back off and reminds him of Naruto's grief at seeing Boruto dead. Kawaki releases Boruto and departs on an errand, erasing his own chakra so the sensors lose him. Boruto figures Kawaki has shrunk himself, while Ada announces she is heading out too. Konohamaru cautions Mitsuki against trailing Ada, and Ada, untroubled, invites the girls to come along.

Warning Boruto she would rather not clash, Ada gets Shikamaru to have him escort her while the sensors keep hunting Kawaki. In Kara's Dimension, Bug drinks uneasily over Code's Claw Grime, unsettled to learn that more than a thousand exist. Code wishes he could ambush Konoha, but Ada's presence robs him of surprise. Ada relays the Claw Grime threat to Shikamaru and explains why Code targets whatever Kawaki holds dear. As Ada dithers over clothes, Daemon grows bored, teases Boruto, and senses something powerful, rushing out to find Himawari and demand to know who she is. Boruto pulls him away, and she explains she is only fetching bread and tea her mother enjoys. Daemon moves to strike, then falters when she braces instead of dodging, baffled to hear she is not even a shinobi, and Boruto admits Himawari is terrifying when she loses her temper.

A sensor watches over Naruto's house as he and Hinata get dinner ready, Hinata wishing Boruto and Kawaki could join them. Kawaki suddenly appears and asks them not to alert the guards, wanting a word with Naruto. He tells Naruto how deeply the man has changed him and how central he is to his life, yet says the world is rotten because of the Ōtsutsuki, with good people like Naruto the first to fall. Rejecting Naruto's belief that dealing with such threats is a shinobi's duty, Kawaki declares he will use his own Ōtsutsuki power to destroy every last one of them, and admits he felt guilty for failing to kill Boruto. Hinata slaps him and calls the idea insane, and he concedes only a madman would kill his brother, yet insists he is thinking clearly. Naruto tells him he would have to kill him first before ever reaching Boruto, and Kawaki, asking for no understanding, sends the couple away through a rift, telling them they may kill him once his task is finished.

Kawaki breaks off from the mission and vanishes by suppressing his chakra. Ada reveals Code has created over a thousand Claw Grime. Daemon confronts Himawari and is stunned by her power despite her not being a shinobi. Kawaki confronts Naruto and Hinata, confesses his plan to annihilate every Ōtsutsuki, and sends them away through a rift after Naruto vows to stop him.
