Towards the Night…!!

On the battlefield, Chōza and his son Chōji hurl themselves at the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, but the towering figure barely notices and replies with a shockwave that rips across the ground. Racing toward the fighting, Naruto shifts into his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode; B cautions that the form will empty his reserves before he truly needs them, yet Naruto refuses to lose any more time.

The Sensor Division picks up both the statue and Tobi at the front, leaving Tsunade to wonder why he would expose himself there. When the Intelligence Division confirms that Naruto and B have escaped their guards and joined up to punch through the barrier, the Fourth Raikage resolves to face the jinchūriki himself, ordering Tsunade to come along and leaving Shikaku Nara in command. Amid the chaos, Kakuzu is sealed and the barrier caging Dan fades. Kitsuchi tries to pin the statue between crushing earth, but it wrenches free and ruins still more of the field. Tobi presses forward to seize the Benihisago and the Kohaku no Jōhei; Shikamaru and Darui move to stop him, only for the statue to stomp them down until Chōji and Kitsuchi drag them clear.

Tobi retreats, and Kabuto realizes he has made off with Kinkaku and Ginkaku. With the Allied Shinobi Forces and Akatsuki alike cut down to half their strength, the weary armies settle in for the oncoming night. Chapter 537 belongs to volume 57 within the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation arc. Viz released it as Toward Nightfall…!!, first appearing in issue 22 of 2011.
