A clipped form of the Japanese pronunciation of cook gives this Paramecia fruit its name, and the official English translations style it the Cook-Cook Fruit. Whatever Streusen touches, he can turn into food, and since the change is immediate and skips the kitchen entirely, he never lacks a way to feed himself or others. The same trick works defensively too, reshaping a hazardous item into something edible and easier to handle.

Nourishing though the results are, flavor is another matter, as Big Mom herself grumbled about the taste. That one flaw aside, only the ordinary Devil Fruit weaknesses limit the power. Sixty-three years back, Streusen was shown carving a log into meat and eating it straightaway, and his command of the fruit runs deep enough that an entire castle became food under his hand in a single moment. His signature move, Veränderung Gourmet, drives his sword into a target to convert it. He first put it to use on the collapsing Whole Cake Chateau, turning the structure into a real sponge cake crowned with whipped cream so that the debris would spare both the people riding it and the townsfolk of Sweet City underneath. The word Veränderung carries the German sense of change, and both the VIZ manga and the Funimation cuts rename the move Gourmetamorphosis.

Streusen, longtime head cook of the Big Mom Pirates and once a member of the Rocks Pirates, is the sole eater. The fruit draws comparison to several others: like the Ato Ato no Mi it reshapes everyday objects to match the user's imagination, and it can bring forth foodstuffs much as the Kibi Kibi no Mi does, along with the Fude Fude no Mi.
