The scientist Vegapunk ate it, and its effects are tied directly to his reputation as the smartest individual alive. Following the destruction of his original body, no one knows what became of the fruit itself. The name plays on a quirk of Japanese: because Nomi echoes the suffix no Mi attached to every Devil Fruit, the title amounts to one pair of syllables stated three times over, a tongue-twister that even Vegapunk stumbles on when first describing it.

Whoever holds this ability can retain a boundless quantity of facts, recalling with perfect clarity anything they have ever encountered. Fresh and complex subjects, the sort that would normally demand decades of dedicated study, become understandable in an instant. Should the user perish while the brain remains alive, every fact lodged within it survives up to the moment of death. The catch is physical: the skull and the brain must enlarge to house all that data, and a grotesquely oversized head proves a serious nuisance. Vegapunk eventually grew nearly as large-headed as a giant, so he severed most of his brain and linked it to his body through an antenna that broadcasts brain waves. That detached, still-growing mass became Punk Records, and his six satellite duplicates synchronize with it daily, effectively sharing a single consciousness. Vegapunk is the lone known consumer, having swallowed the fruit by age fourteen, at least fifty-one years before the present, with concept material showing his head already enlarged at that young age.
