Earl Battler

Topping his gray skin and purple lips, Battler's magenta hair rises into a mohawk styled after a musical note. His build follows the pattern of other heavyset characters in the series, a broad trunk on thin limbs, much like Foxy. Lavish dress is his style, centered on a yellow jacket whose back reads EVIL, a label he waves off with a joke by telling Luffy and the crew that he is actually a good guy.

Once he devours the Crowning Treasure horns, his clothes tear away and he balloons into a massive yellow-furred beast, golden horns rising from a cat-like head set atop a bear-shaped frame striped in purple. Those stripes trace the very curve of his horns. Standing tall, the form dwarfs Chopper's Heavy Point. After Luffy smashes the horns, he drops back to human shape, reduced to a bald and skeletal figure that nearly looks like a mummy.

Conceit defines him. He brands himself the world's greatest inventor, zoologist, and treasure hunter, and his craving for the horns' universe-shaking power pushed him to butcher hundreds of animals, take a man's life, and threaten countless other creatures into submission. A glutton for mustard, he spurns ketchup and mayonnaise and seethes until his lackeys supply it. Beneath the menace sits a fool: easily duped, prone to running his mouth, and unable to keep anything secret, a weakness Hotdog remarks on directly.

Battler plays the violin with great talent, and through the self-invented Wild Animal Violin he produces a tune that controls the Horn Eaters, turning them loose on other beasts and people; the melody even sways Luffy, whose brainwaves read just like a beast's. Hidden inside a tambourine he keeps an axe, the same blade that ended M. Danbo's life, and the one that carved the scar across Mobanby's chest. His ordinary combat skill sits below a common Marine, lacking named techniques and failing to crack a thin stone slab with a punch, yet his jaw is monstrously strong, crunching through tough keratin horns and antlers, even the Kirin Lion's own golden horns.

Eating the Crowning Treasure horns multiplies his power, letting him brush off a Gomu Gomu no Gatling and survive Chopper's Kokutei Roseo to the forehead, though it draws blood. The beast form arms him with slashing claws and horns that grow searing hot to burn and pierce foes, plus a ground-splitting shockwave when he headbutts the earth. Its lone vulnerability stays those golden horns themselves.
