Hatcha

Towering far above even an ordinary giant at roughly 36.7 meters, Hatcha shares the same outsized scale as the rest of the Numbers. His look skews surprisingly human compared to his more bestial peers: peach-toned skin, a tidy indigo bowl cut, rounded teeth, and the usual horns rising from his scalp. The formal kanji for eight is inked onto the left side of his belly.

For clothing he favors a yellow track jacket left open to bare his chest, paired with dark trousers, laced pale footwear, and a set of oval-framed shades. His silhouette and laugh are built as a nod to Bruce Lee, right down to the Game of Death jumpsuit.

Drinking and brawling are Hatcha's chief pleasures, and his enthusiasm for a fight runs ahead of any caution. When intruders breached Kaido's stronghold he charged in swinging, doing so much indiscriminate damage that he flattened his own allies, leaving crewmates scrambling to rein him in. Kid noticed they could barely keep him under control.

He is also easily distracted, fixating on General Franky as though it were a plaything and chasing it instead of guarding against real threats. Like every Number, his laughter riffs on his name and number, coming out as a drawn-out Hachachacha.

More than two decades earlier, Hatcha was one of the failed test subjects in a Punk Hazard program meant to rebuild the ancient race of giants. Though the experiment never succeeded, Kaido gathered the survivors, settled them on Onigashima, and folded them into the Beasts Pirates as the squad known as the Numbers. The procedure also stretched his lifespan to that of a true giant, leaving him 188 years old.

During the Fire Festival he joined the crew's Golden Kagura celebrations before a drunken rampage against the captured Worst Generation rookies. After sobering, he became obsessed with General Franky and pursued it across the fortress, collapsing the floor beneath Yamato's group. Yamato ended his charge with a powerful long-range strike to the jaw that knocked him out cold. His immense bulk lets him crush stone and timber with casual swings of his spiked, morning-star-style club, and once clear-headed he hoisted fellow Number Jaki overhead with ease.
