Lacos heads the fighting men of his village on Asuka Island, serving as one of the principal good guys in the fifth One Piece film. Wary of outsiders after an earlier raid, he ends up allied with the Straw Hats against a cursed blade.
Broad-shouldered and standing well above average height, Lacos carries the build of a fighter. A strip of cloth wraps his brow, beneath dark brown locks. His complexion runs pale, and he favors a shirt colored in white and red.
At first glance Lacos comes across as harsh and resentful, a temper rooted in the pirate assault his community once endured. That bitterness masks a kind and honorable heart, however. He holds deep affection for Maya and the rest of the islanders, and he later owns up to the Straw Hats for condemning them on sight simply because they sail under a pirate flag. When his home is threatened, he readily steps into danger to shield it.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...
Years earlier, when raiders descended on Asuka Island, Lacos and his neighbors fought back without success until Saga drew strength from the Shichiseiken. The cursed sword cleared out the invaders but then bent Saga and the Marines to its will, turning them against the very people they had saved. When the Straw Hat Pirates arrive during the events of the film, Lacos greets them with hostility despite Sanji urging calm, and he clashes with Bismarck once the Marines attack, eventually being struck down by Boo Kong into the ruins of an ancient altar.
Recovering under Maya's care and burning with guilt over his failures, Lacos softens toward the crew, sharing a meal and apologizing for his misjudgment. He helps recount the legend of the Red Moon and the sword's hold over Saga, and joins the plan to perform the sealing ritual. Paired with Sanji, he fights off the Marines at Komon and helps place one of the orbs to strengthen the barrier. With Saga freed at last, Lacos stands with Maya, Izaya, and the others to watch the Straw Hats sail away.
Lacos is the leader of the fighting men on Asuka Island and one of the main allies in One Piece Movie 5, The Cursed Holy Sword.
Lacos initially treats the Straw Hats with hostility because his village had previously been raided by pirates, leaving him wary of anyone flying a pirate flag.
After being struck down by Boo Kong and nursed back to health by Maya, Lacos apologizes to the Straw Hats, joins the sealing ritual, fights alongside Sanji against the Marines at Komon, and helps place one of the orbs that strengthens the barrier trapping the sword's curse.
