Palms

Slim and curly-haired, Palms has dark rings circling his eyes that give him a panda-like look fitting his overall animal theme. Atop his head and shoulders sits what appears to be panda fur, the creature's head worn as a covering of his own. Straps crossing his bare, muscled chest hold a pair of shoulder pads in place, and he wears long striped gloves reaching almost to the shoulders, with another fur garment around his waist marked with leopard-like spots.

Little is documented about him, but like the other allied captains he calls Whitebeard Father, and he came to Marineford to save Ace rather than flee through the escape path that had been cleared. He is not the sort to retreat from danger, shown by his willingness to take on all of Marine Headquarters and leap straight into the fray.

Palms built a fearsome name for himself in the New World before becoming a subordinate of the Whitebeard Pirates. He carries a long curved sword whose crossguard is shaped like three bamboo shoots, a design echoed on his ship, and he is presumed skilled with it. When Ace faced execution at Marineford, Palms and his crew sided with Whitebeard to rescue him, attacking the Marines out of the bay and later wondering aloud what the newly arrived Pacifista were. He reached the plaza aboard Whitebeard's secret ship with help from Little Oars Jr., grew worried when Akainu wounded Whitebeard, and was seen resigning himself to leaving the Emperor behind. In an anime-only filler, Palms got into a quarrel with Edward Weevil that ended in his defeat, his news report appearing on Kizaru's desk among other beaten pirates. He stands as the third panda-themed character to appear in the series.
