Appearance

Rather than genuine buccaneers, the group is a cluster of youngsters from Ruluka Island who dress up the part of a pirate crew and fly their own Jolly Roger. Rapanui Pasqua leads them, with Henzo, Rongo, Akibi, and Isoka among the ranks. A shoreline cave on Ruluka serves as their hideout, a spot where they have fun and Henzo tinkers with his gadgets.

Personality

The crew embodies the carefree make-believe of children at play, closely mirroring the later Usopp Pirates in how a knot of kids takes on the trappings of an outlaw band purely for the fun of it. Tight friendship binds them, and that loyalty carries them through long years of being stranded together.

History

Their home village once fell under assault by Wetton and his pirates. The children managed to wreck his plans, only to be swept into the Rainbow Mist and deposited in Ape's Concert; Henzo alone escaped, giving himself up to spare the others. The stranded band endured there for decades. They had taken refuge aboard a wrecked Marine vessel that had once been Rapanui's father's, which they eventually detonated to clear an escape route for the Going Merry. When Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Robin arrived together with a grown Henzo, the group helped foil Wetton's plot and were sent back to an earlier point in their own timeline. Through an ontological paradox, every one of them, save Henzo who became a scientist, went on to enlist as the very Marines who had pursued the Straw Hats to Ruluka. Because they joined while legends such as Roger and Whitebeard were still rookies, they count among the oldest known Marine veterans, and they remain the only pirate crew ever to take up with the Marines.
