At first Rasa comes across as frosty and severe, suspicious of outsiders and willing to endanger Vivi out of pure spite. Beneath that hardness lay years of pain rooted in the time she spent alone in Melias, a tangle of hope and grief. Only after she and Vivi spoke honestly of the past and wept together did that bitterness finally lift.
