When the Straw Hat Pirates pushed up through the tower, he kept them pinned with bursts of flame, but the crew slipped around to a path behind him and put him down quickly. In the Reunion of Memories storyline, he appeared in the Enies Lobby Memoria of the Whitebeard Pirates' assault, waiting with Gage and Guard past Barricade's ambush to face Whitebeard, only for the three to be swiftly beaten by the pirate and the Straw Hats.
