Yarisugi

Standing well over two meters and heavily built, Yarisugi cuts an imposing figure. A scar marks his left cheek, and his brown hair flares out from the sides of his head in a ring shape, complemented by a slim black mustache and beard. His headgear is a round cap with a short dark brim bearing the number five. Beneath a coat lined with light fur he sports a dark leotard stamped with the Marine emblem and the G-5 label, running from his chest down to his thighs, finished with a bow-tie. Three star-marked badges decorate the coat, a sword rides on a belt slung across his torso, and metal greaves shield his shins.

Cruel and short on mercy, Yarisugi embodies the savage reputation of the G-5 branch. He showed no pity toward townspeople pleading for help locating their missing children, going so far as to kick one of them and bark threats at the despairing crowd. A verbal tic has him tacking the word "too" onto nearly everything he says, in keeping with a name that translates to overdoing it. Torturing prisoners delights him, and once Caribou was dropped into his hands he immediately began dreaming up the most vicious methods he could imagine. The anime adds a softer wrinkle: he carries a crush on Tashigi, even bleeding from the nose at the thought of her and lamenting that she answers to Smoker rather than to him.

His commodore rank gives Yarisugi command over the soldiers below him. Alongside the rest of G-5, he proved capable of bringing down Coribou and the wider Caribou Pirates, no small feat given the bounty on that crew. In combat he relies on a sword, demonstrated during his clash with Coribou, and he also weaponizes his iron boots, which he used to deliver a punishing kick to a civilian.
