Luffy Defeated! The Straw Hats in Jeopardy?!

Kaidou watches Luffy fall into the ocean and scoffs that, for all his coating of Supreme King Haki, the boy wielded it clumsily and will never become Joy Boy. Within the palace, Big Mom casts Zeus out of her crew and orders Hera to devour him so she can absorb the added power from his soul. Realizing his life is forfeit, Zeus tries to make peace with Nami, but she will not forgive him.

Zeus rebels one last time against his mother before Big Mom extracts his soul and feeds his lifeless form to Hera, who surges with new energy. As Nami's group flees and Tama goes with them, Big Mom loses her affection for the girl and lashes out, only for Kid to step in and confront her. On the Live Floor, Queen and Perospero press Chopper and the defected Beasts Pirates; Chopper briefly gains the edge by hurling Queen into a wall, yet Queen is unhurt while Chopper is spent.

On the third floor Yamato keeps drawing Gifters away with his fake Momonosuke while the real boy hides in the crawl space, reading Oden's logbook about his pirate voyages until he detects another mysterious voice. Spotted by the Mary Bao Huang, his location is reported to Kaidou, who resolves to chase him personally. The anime adds Perospero's Candy Shower and reorders Kid's brush-off of Nami's group; a trivia note marks that the second half of the series surpassed the first in episode count here. The episode is part of the Wano Country Arc.
