Everything Began That Day! Vivi Tells of her Adventures!

Tormented by a dream of Vivi declaring herself pirate queen, Igaram rushes to her room only to be shooed out by Terracotta as the princess dresses for her address. He and Chaka can only watch helplessly as battle rages between the crew and the Marines at the harbor. Aboard the Going Merry, the pirates are pinned as the Marines try to sink the ship. Luffy recognizes Jango among the enemy, and Usopp fires a cannon shot that wrecks the vessels carrying both Jango and Fullbody.

Bon Kurei urges the crew to flee, warning that Black Cage Hina, the Marine Headquarters captain patrolling these waters, has arrived. When he asks why they linger, Nami explains they promised Luffy they would wait to meet a friend. Using his disguise power, Bon Kurei deceives the Marines into chasing him, opening a window for the crew to break away while his own crew prepares to hold the line.

Cobra and Igaram visit Vivi as she announces she has something important to share. Watching Bon Kurei's people clash with the Marines, the crew weep and swear never to forget the sacrifice. Vivi delivers a public speech that secretly recounts her voyage with the pirates, while the citizens spot Igaram's failed attempt to impersonate her and demand he step down. Reaching the harbor, Vivi finds the crew waiting as promised and tells them she will stay, asking whether they would still call her a friend if they ever meet again. Nami silences Luffy before he can answer aloud, since speaking would brand Vivi a criminal, so the crew raise their left arms to show the cross mark, and Vivi and Karoo answer the same way from the shore.

Maidy and Nefertari Titi make their debuts. In the manga Hina is called Black Jail rather than the anime's Black Cage. The opening theme We Are! plays as an insert song during the crew's quiet farewell. The entry is part of the Arabasta Arc and aired in English regions under the title Pirate Vivi?.
