The 232nd One Piece episode introduces the shipwrights of Water 7. Paulie steps in to recover Usopp's lost cash, Kalifa guides the crew through Dock 1, and Kaku delivers grim news after inspecting the Going Merry's battered hull.
Still chasing the thieves who lifted his money, Usopp watches the pursuit collide with Paulie, a Dock 1 foreman fleeing his own creditors. Once Paulie realizes the cash belongs to the Franky Family's loot, he tries pocketing it himself, until Rob Lucci pins him in place. With the funds handed back, Lucci and Paulie trade a few blows before the visitors are finally cleared to step inside the shipyard.
Touring the grounds, Kalifa recounts how Iceburg built the famous shipbuilding firm. Luffy, undeterred, asks the mayor to sail with them, an offer Iceburg brushes aside since he runs the city. He then presses Luffy on whether Nico Robin truly belongs to the crew, which Luffy gladly confirms. Distracted by a cannon being fitted to a galleon, Usopp lets his guard slip and the Franky Family ambushes him once more.
Paulie makes his first appearance and shows off his rope techniques. A shipyard worker recovers Usopp's suitcases and returns them to Luffy and Nami, yet Usopp himself has vanished. Kaku comes back from examining the Going Merry and reports that her keel is damaged past saving, leaving her unable to reach another island. The episode closes on Zoro standing over the ship, quietly asking whether she can really no longer sail.
