The Showdown Has Come! Luffy's Desperate Last Attack!

Cornered by Magellan deep inside Impel Down, Luffy battles a foe whose Devil Fruit lets him generate toxin at will. The warden coats the air with poisonous mist, and every punch Luffy lands only worsens the spread across his own hands. Elsewhere in the prison, Bentham tears through the guard ranks while wrestling with guilt over leaving Luffy behind, eventually crossing paths with the captured Buggy and Galdino. He drops in on Hannyabal to free them, but Luffy's own struggle ends grimly as Magellan engulfs him in a fresh Hydra and declares that the rubber pirate will suffer for a full day before perishing.

Hannyabal berates his subordinates for nearly letting the two prisoners escape, since he hoped to pin the blame on Magellan. Luffy, his hands burning from contact with the venom, tries a Twin Jet Pistol that staggers the warden, only for Magellan to spit a Venom Blowfish ball and conjure more poison than any attack can clear. A Gum-Gum Jet Pistol bursts through a toxic Hydra, yet the captain's strength fades inside a living cloud of venom, and he finally drops. Bentham surprises the guards with a Swan Arabesque, frees no one yet, and provokes Hannyabal into a duel before slipping into disguise. Rising again out of sheer desperation, Luffy enters Second Gear and clashes with another Hydra, but Magellan overpowers him and announces that no cure exists for the amount of poison absorbed.

The installment adapts page two through eleven of Chapter 535 and belongs to the Impel Down arc. Magellan debuts the Doku Fugu and Doku Gumo techniques here. In his cell, Ace lifts his head as if sensing his brother's plight, while Jinbe watches the proceedings in silence. A brief flashback of Boa Hancock also appears.
