To Live Up to a Promise! Luffy and Coby Collide!

With his strength back, Luffy shrugs off Ivankov's warning that the hormones merely deceive his body and bolts for the platform. A line of Marines pledges to halt him and is swept aside, and when Koby steps forward, remembering the day the two first met, Luffy drops him with one Gomu Gomu no Bullet. A pair of Pacifista then bar Luffy and Ivankov, but Boa Hancock places herself between them, and the cyborgs, taking her for an ally, give the duo room to slip past.

Mauled by Akainu, Whitebeard is mobbed by Marines as Kizaru, using seastone supplied by Onigumo, pins Marco, and Aokiji seals Jozu in ice. The aging Emperor still hurls his attackers off, laughing that he cannot fall before glimpsing a future for his sons, only to falter the moment he summons his Haki. With fresh executioners poised and Sengoku calling for the kill, a desperate Luffy detonates a burst of Supreme King Haki that knocks out the executioners and countless combatants while he keeps climbing toward Ace.

Luffy lays Koby out with a single punch and is shielded from the Pacifista by Hancock. Drawing on Onigumo's seastone, Kizaru cripples Marco, while Aokiji freezes Jozu solid. Whitebeard scatters the Marines swarming him but gives out when he reaches for his Haki. As Sengoku orders the execution to proceed, Luffy unleashes an involuntary surge of Conqueror's Haki that fells the executioners and many fighters nearby.

This installment adapts pages 2 through 15 of Chapter 569. One change from the source: Jango's collapse under Luffy's Haki, drawn in the manga, never appears on screen here. The next-episode preview also runs noticeably shorter than its standard length. Whitebeard's vow to see a future for his sons anchors his refusal to die, even as his wounds and old age work against him.
