An Intense Battle - Caesar Exercises His True Ability!

On the burning side, Brook recalls a book about Slime creatures that strip the clothes from women, exciting Sanji and the samurai, though Zoro notes the slime has killed every fish in the lake and is clearly dangerous. Determined to recover the samurai's torso from the water, Sanji dives in as the best swimmer, bracing against the brutal cold. Inside the lab, Law seizes his moment alone with Monet, setting Chopper down and asking her to accompany him so he can borrow her ability, which she playfully calls a date.

Outside, Luffy has grabbed Caesar using Armament Haki, which lets him hold a Logia in his intangible form without nullifying the power. Caesar hurls his Gas Robe over Luffy's head and gloats, only for Luffy to inhale the poison and vent it from his ears, immune thanks to his ordeal with Magellan. Insulted by the comparison, Caesar is struck by Luffy's Jet Mace. He retaliates with an exploding Gastanet and orders Slime fragments to blast Luffy, who reappears unharmed and hits him with Jet Stamp. As Luffy calls for something to contain the Logia, he suddenly cannot breathe and collapses, Caesar standing triumphant. Robin, Franky, Tashigi, and Smoker each try to intervene and are knocked out one after another. Elsewhere, Law clutches his chest in agony as a man steps from the shadows, remarking how much Law has grown since they last met.

Sanji dives into the freezing lake to retrieve the samurai's torso. Law lures Monet away to borrow her ability. Luffy grabs Caesar with Armament Haki and proves immune to his poison gas, landing several blows. Caesar fells Luffy with an unknown power and then knocks out Robin, Franky, Tashigi, and Smoker. A mysterious man confronts Law in the lab corridor.

The episode adapts chapters 671 and 672, introduces Vergo, and debuts Caesar's Gas Robe, Gastanet, and Karakuni alongside Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Jet Mace. The anime shows extra book illustrations during Brook's Slime story and adds Robin, Franky, and Smoker attacking the centaurs, a G-5 Marine caught in the Gas Robe, the centaurs cheering Caesar, and Luffy taking out centaurs with Jet Stamp. The defeat of his allies, off panel in the manga, is shown onscreen, and Luffy's fight and collapse are both extended.
