Intense! Aokiji vs. Doflamingo

With Kuzan present, Doflamingo still lunges for Smoker's life and is sealed in ice by the Hie Hie no Mi, only to break loose before the cold can spread to his heart. Finding no advantage in clashing with the former admiral, he collects Baby 5 and Buffalo to depart, pausing first to question what Kuzan now stands for given the rumors he has heard. Kuzan gives no answer and shouts for a medic. After the Warlord goes, the ex-admiral explains that his faith in the World Government had long since eroded, and that he is convinced he can accomplish more for the world by operating beyond Marine ranks.

Smoker wants to know how Kuzan learned of Punk Hazard, a closely guarded government secret, and worries about possible underworld ties. Kuzan rejects the suspicion, presses Smoker to make Sakazuki watch Doflamingo as the most dangerous figure at present, and asks that Admirals be sent quickly. He also requests the G-5 Marines say nothing of his being here, and they comply.

Out on the open sea, the crew takes a moment to recover. Usopp and Chopper, terrified of a Doflamingo counterstrike, suit up in samurai armor produced by Kin'emon's ability, while Kin'emon nearly comes to blows with Zoro, certain the swordsman robbed Ryuma's grave to claim the Shusui. Momonosuke turns up bathing alongside Robin, igniting jealous rage in Brook, Sanji, and Kin'emon alike. The trio confronts him, Nami punches each of them for the supposed bullying, and the boy then nuzzles her chest on purpose while grinning at the furious three.

By nightfall some of the crew sleeps while the others stand guard over the Sunny. Beneath the surface, an unknown figure watches the vessel, set on making off with Caesar.

Marking the close of the Punk Hazard Arc, this episode introduces both Breed and the Peto Peto no Mi. The adaptation adds a second kick to Caesar from Sanji, a hailstorm battering the crew, Nami showing Momonosuke around the ship, and a longer sequence of the boy abusing his childish charm. The final image of a stranger rising from the water atop a Sea Lapahn sets up the filler Caesar Retrieval Arc.
