Luffy Astonished - The Man Who Inherits Ace's Will

Dellinger mocks and pummels Bellamy, who tries to bolt toward Doflamingo only to be caught with ease. As the killing blow nears, a barrier snaps up and Bartolomeo plants himself in the way. Newly told by Diamante to guard the SMILE facility, Dellinger relents and leaves, promising to deal with both later. Baffled that a stranger would intervene, Bellamy hears that Bartolomeo counts anyone he has battled beside as a friend.

On the Flower Hill, the Thunder Soldier briefs the resistance on Operation SOP, describing the concealed criminal world under the island, the captured Tontatta and toys laboring in the factory, and the tunnel dug to reach it. Felling one of Doflamingo's agents, he explains, would cancel her power, restore the toys to human form, and return the citizens' stolen memories. That target is a girl kept from aging by her fruit and shielded by Trebol himself.

Hunting for a way out, Luffy bumps into Bartolomeo and Bellamy, then meets a man who declares the flame fruit will never reach Straw Hat Luffy. Gazing at him, Luffy weeps with joy, gives over his Lucy costume, and slips away with Zoro and Kin'emon in animal outfits.

Bartolomeo's barrier saves Bellamy from Dellinger's finishing strike. The Thunder Soldier reveals that Sugar hides at the underground port, kept perpetually young by a side effect of her fruit and protected by Trebol. Luffy surrenders his claim to the Mera Mera no Mi, valuing his friends' lives over the prize, while Bartolomeo vows to win it for him. The stranger who forbids the flame fruit from going to Luffy proves to be Sabo, now a Revolutionary, who tells Koala over a Den Den Mushi that he means to reclaim Ace's fruit and carry on his will. A look at Ace's grave with three cups before it confirms the brother Luffy thought dead is alive.

From here the Wake up! opening switches to its second version, which now previews the Straw Hats' coming clashes with the Donquixote Pirates. The adaptation puts Dellinger's brutal beating of Bellamy onscreen and adds Bellamy fighting back before trying to flee toward Doflamingo. At Ace's grave, the paper wrongly tags Usopp by his real name rather than Sogeking and carries post-timeskip portraits of Chopper, Franky, and Robin. Bartolomeo does not foam at the mouth while nearly fainting before Luffy, the Jesus Burgess cameo is cut, and Sabo voices his vow to himself instead of to Koala. The episode falls within the Dressrosa Arc.
