In Dressrosa's streets the Marines struggle against panicking animals and looting pirates, made worse by Fujitora's absence. Atop the palace, Luffy fends off a Doflamingo string clone and the controlled Bellamy while Law presses the Warlord on how a disgraced noble still commands CP0 and the World Government. Doflamingo answers that he uncovered a national treasure the World Nobles would never want exposed and used it to extort their power.

He then lays bare the Ope Ope no Mi's hidden potential: an Ageless Surgery granting eternal life at the price of the user's own. Law dismisses any interest in it, crediting Corazon for giving him the strength to bring Doflamingo down. His mind drifts back sixteen years to when, newly told he had barely three years left, a vengeful young Law joined the crew and first met the talented but clumsy Corazon, who hated children enough to hurl the boy out a window.

Doflamingo reveals he blackmailed the World Nobles with knowledge of Mary Geoise's national treasure, securing their cooperation despite their wish for his death. He describes the Ope Ope no Mi as the Ultimate Devil Fruit, able to transplant personalities and bestow immortality, and admits he regrets not seizing it. Law confirms the immortality surgery costs the operator their life and refuses to use it. The flashback introduces a dying ten-year-old Law at Spider Miles, the surviving recruits Baby 5 and Buffalo, and Corazon, whose pranks, hot tea, and rough treatment of the children mark his arrival as Law vows revenge.

The anime extends the chaos in Primula and omits the bleeding elephant battering the Birdcage shown in the manga. Law and Doflamingo clash with Busoshoku Haki during their duel, and the flashback adds Doflamingo, Buffalo, and Baby 5 watching Law spar with Diamante and laughing when he asks to become an officer. The manga first showed the child Baby 5 and Buffalo just before Corazon's debut. Rated 9.9, ranked second for its week. Corazon debuts and Luffy unveils Tako Stamp.
