Tsuru positions her warships near Swallow Island, wary of Doflamingo, while her lookouts report the fire at the Barrels hideout. Carrying the wounded Law clear of the burning town, Corazon shows him the fruit and forces him to swallow it whole. Only then does Law see the blood pooling beneath the older man, realizing he was shot multiple times during the theft. Law tries to heal him with his new power and fails, learning the ability is no instant miracle. Corazon insists the wounds will not kill him and asks one last favor.

Corazon hands Law a small capsule, explaining that its contents will spare the distant kingdom of Dressrosa and that every Marine recognizes the object. Reminding the boy he is a doctor's son who can now save more than the sick, he sends him to the lookout ship. Law, trembling through the snow, mistakenly approaches Vergo and asks him to carry the message and aid a dying man. The moment Corazon blurts his name, Vergo grasps the truth, kicks him through a wall, shreds the letter, and coats himself in Armament Haki to savagely beat them both. Vergo then radios Doflamingo, naming Rosinante as the Marines' spy.

Doflamingo, who spotted the two arriving warships as proof of treachery, makes landfall on Minion Island as his crew crushes the Barrels Pirates. Finding the brothers gone, he raises the Birdcage to seal the ghost town, trapping everyone inside as parasite strings turn pirates against one another. Battered and certain he will not survive, Corazon resolves to send Law off remembering a smile rather than this carnage. He lifts the boy, casts Silent once more, and grins, prompting Law to wake screaming. The adaptation moves the fruit handoff away from the town and depicts Tsuru's crew as entirely female Marines.
