A Desperate Situation - Luffy Fights a Battle in Extreme Heat

Facing the three, Bill ridicules their dreams of reaching the New World's summit and tells Desire he drained the whole Silver Pirate Alliance to fund a life of supreme luxury. When she rushes him in fury, Luffy darts in front of her in Gear 2 and slams Bill into a cliff. Bill draws a pair of blades from inside his chest, only to have them shattered, then reaches for an axe before a kick and another punch hurl him into the rock, and he finally grasps how dangerous a 500,000,000 berry pirate truly is. A Battle Boat squad arrives, and Bill deceives them into thinking Desire steered the Straw Hats in to betray them, but Luffy drops the entire group with Supreme King Haki and punches Bill down into the shaft.

Deep below, Tanaka discovers the beaten Bill and warns that their master will throw him away for a loss this humiliating. Recalling how that ruler once forced him and his crew to their knees through sheer money, Bill desperately gorges on ore by the ton. Above, the ground erupts with molten flow as the trio sprints for the shore, while the crews aboard the Going Luffy-senpai keep repelling the alliance and watch the island start to melt. Bill returns gigantic, molten ore pouring off his skin; Bartolomeo blocks the waves, snatches Desire from a chasm, telling her that deserting a friend is something he could never do, then thrusts out a barrier shaped like a hand to shove the flow backward. As Bill builds a colossal ball of ore overhead, Luffy charges in and unleashes Gomu Gomu no Grizzly Magnum, smashing through it and flinging Bill into his palace.

This caps the Silver Mine Arc, Bill perishing as the island goes under and Desire and the Sweet Pirates departing alone after declining to join the Barto Club. Later a vessel of the Revolutionary Army approaches Gran Tesoro, where Koala notes that its master rivals the World Nobles in might. Tanaka delivers news of Bill's fall to that man, Gild Tesoro, who is unconcerned, since Bill had already provided his amusement and the genuine entertainment is only now about to begin, a setup for One Piece Film: Gold.
