The Truth Behind The Disappearance - Sanji Gets a Startling Invitation

Two days prior, Capone Bege sprang an ambush, encircling Sanji and Brook while capturing Nami, Chopper, and Caesar, then drawing them inside his body, a living fortress granted by the Shiro Shiro no Mi. There Bege handed Sanji, third son of the Vinsmoke Family, an invitation: he was arranged to wed Pudding of the Charlotte Family, the clan ruled by Big Mom. Sanji refused in shock, but Bege threatened the crew, and Vito leaned in to whisper something that left Sanji stunned.

As Pekoms collapsed, Sanji and Brook spotted gunmen in Bege's palm. Miniature soldiers poured from a door in Bege's chest, growing to full size past a red barrier and surrounding the pair. Bege explained his fruit lets his body serve as a fortress and recalled Luffy's trouble at Sabaody. Vito then arrived with the captured Nami and Chopper and revealed Caesar hiding in a tree; Bege bluffed about seastone bullets, then used a seastone staff to subdue the scientist before herding everyone into his body. Inside, the captives were chained while Sanji sat at a banquet table. Bege tossed over the Tea Party invitation and read its contents aloud, revealing the arranged marriage. The crew was appalled, and Sanji's cigarette fell from his gaping mouth. Nami recalled Sanji once mentioning his North Blue origins despite growing up in the East Blue. Bege demonstrated total control over his fortress, turning fixtures into weapons and sinking Nami into the floor until Sanji yelled for him to stop. Vito then whispered into Sanji's ear, leaving him shaken.

Vito debuts in this episode. The anime adds references to the Sabaody incident where Luffy struck a World Noble, has Nami and Brook explain Bege's fruit to Luffy, and draws out the scene of Nami sinking into the floor for tension. Unlike the manga, Bege learns of Caesar's hiding spot from Vito's whisper, and Vito stays on guard as Sanji reaches for a cigarette. The shooting of Pekoms from the prior episode is reconstructed with added footage concluding his collapse.
