Gathered as one, the group revisits the Payback War, the battle that pitted Marco's Whitebeard Pirates against Teach's crew and ultimately elevated Blackbeard into the Four Emperors. The broader situation now clear, they resolve to break into separate units. One will head for Whole Cake Island to recover Sanji, a second will sail toward Wano to prepare against Kaidou, and the rest will remain on Zou to defend it.

To mark the fresh peace struck between Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, the minks set about throwing a celebration. The merriment is cut short the moment Jack and his crew launch a renewed assault on the island.

With the three-way division of duties agreed upon and the feast under preparation, Jack's reappearance hurls everyone straight back into danger. A flash of foreboding grips Zoro, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi, who sense the menace an instant before Zou shudders underfoot. As the raid breaks out, the minks scatter amid the turmoil while their rulers and the alliance steel themselves for the attack.

The adaptation stretches several scenes, among them the crew straining to dredge up Marco's name with Chopper, Brook, Franky, and Usopp all pitching in, plus the strategy talk shared by the pirates, Law, the two rulers, and the swordsmen. Raizo demonstrates his Daisuki no Jutsu, and the English dub caps the technique by having him sing the chorus from the song 'Ninja Rap' by the performer Vanilla Ice. Newly added beats include Carrot explaining Zunesha to Usopp during the raid and Law guarding his crew against a toppling building.
