A Top Officer! One of the Three Commanders Cracker Appears

Marching through the Seducing Woods, Cracker scatters cowering homies with bursts of raw power. He arrives at the clearing where the buried man is recounting his past to Luffy and Nami, seizes him by the ponytail, and tears him loose from the dirt. To the Straw Hats' surprise, the man turns out to have a body no bigger than his outsized head, far from the giant they had pictured. He begs for one last look at his daughter Chiffon, mentioning she has recently married, and speaks fondly of his other daughter Lola, who ran off. Lola's name jolts Nami, who recalls Pudding's earlier word of a runaway sister and her own old encounter with Lola on Thriller Bark.

Nami recalls that Lola once gave her a Vivre Card leading to a mighty pirate parent in the New World, and she works out that the parent has to be Big Mom. Randolph dives down to ambush the two, but Cracker flicks him aside, irritated by the rabbit's meddling. Cracker explains that Big Mom doubted Brulee could deal with the man who toppled Doflamingo, with the Vinsmokes due to gather at noon the next day. Brulee then rides in atop the tree homie Kingbaum, drops the mirror trapping Chopper and Carrot, who survive inside the shards, and Chopper passes along a plan. Cracker swings at Pound, only for Luffy to catch the strike and kick him off. As Nami and Pound run, Nami holds up Lola's Vivre Card, whose aura of Big Mom's soul roots every pursuing homie to the spot.

Kingbaum debuts in this entry. Cracker reveals that Big Mom regards none of her 43 former husbands, nor any of her children, as genuine family, which is why she sanctioned Pound's execution. The buried man's name is at last given as Pound. A fresh sequence appears in the adaptation, in which Cracker first cows the homies before revealing himself to the pair and menacing Pound; here Luffy and Nami catch the sound of his arrival rather than initially seeing him drag Pound from the soil. Randolph, who pinned the blame on his crane a single time in the manga, does so twice in the anime before both he and the crane apologize.
