A salvaged mirror shard reconnects the reunited captain and cook with their crew, and Jinbe makes a startling pitch: team up with Capone Bege, the man secretly plotting to murder Big Mom at her own gathering.
Deep in the mirror realm, Chopper recovers a sliver from a mirror that broke earlier and uses it to contact Luffy, who holds the matching fragment near Kingbaum's body. Once they swap updates, the reunited group resolves to wreck the looming celebration and wedding. At the castle, an officer of Big Mom's crew named Charlotte Daifuku arrives at the entrance and forces the gate open by calling up a genie through his Devil Fruit.
Jinbe then walks the others through Capone Bege's history. Formerly head of one of West Blue's five mafia clans, Bege made his name by killing rival bosses and looting their wealth while leaving the rest of each group untouched. Growing bored of land work, he founded the Fire Tank Pirates, applied the same tactics at sea, and rose into the Worst Generation before tying himself to the Big Mom Pirates and taking charge of the event's security. To everyone's alarm, Jinbe discloses that Bege intends to kill the Emperor, that he shot Pekoms for refusing the plot, and that the Sun Pirates dragged Pekoms back from death. Although Luffy bristles at Bege's name, Jinbe urges an alliance to bring down Big Mom.
Chopper and Luffy reopen a line of contact through the mirror fragments and commit to crashing the festivities. Charlotte Daifuku makes his entrance, throwing the gates wide with the genie of his Hoya Hoya no Mi. Jinbe traces Bege's rise from a West Blue mafia boss to a Worst Generation pirate, exposes his plan to assassinate Big Mom, confirms that Pekoms was shot and then pulled to safety by the Sun Pirates, and advises Luffy to ally with Bege against the Emperor. The installment introduces Charlotte Daifuku, Mobu Head, and the Hoya Hoya no Mi.
