Summary

The juice river that held the Shark Submerge III now runs thick with cream washed down by the collapsing castle. Chopper takes such a liking to the cream that he eats enough to pry the sub loose, and the pair set off for the Thousand Sunny, soon racing away from a huge sea beast. Elsewhere, with Luffy's group still on the run, Jinbe explains that Big Mom is throwing a tantrum over her hunger for the wedding cake. Nami snaps at Luffy for spoiling it, though he and Carrot fondly recall its taste. They come upon a bridge from their earlier visit, which Nami points out had been wrecked before, evidence the woodland homies mean to cut off their escape. She keeps Zeus occupied with thunderclouds while Prometheus scolds him. Determined to avenge Kingbaum, Luffy hammers Prometheus with Armament Haki, but the homie is only fire and answers by raining flame, until Jinbe drenches him with river water and saps his strength.

Key Events

Big Mom's children then dart ahead and pen the Straw Hats in. Luffy turns back Laurin and Compo even with the woodland homies helping them, Jinbe parries High-Fat's blade before crushing him with Fish-Man Karate, Tablet chases and shocks Carrot until she rounds on him with Electro, and Sanji shatters Mobile's swords using Diable Jambe. A single strike finishes Laurin and Compo, Jinbe slams High-Fat down, and Pedro, goaded by Kato's insult of his fallen comrade Zepo, overpowers him in fury. Regrouped yet boxed in once more, the crew hunts for an exit: the trees foil Carrot's leap to spot the Sunny, so Pedro slices a path to the canopy, climbs above the homies, points the way to the ship, and pledges to steer them from on high.

Notes

Under a barrage of fire rain from Prometheus and aerial slashes from Big Mom, Zeus gulps down Nami's entire Weather Egg and balloons with storm energy. Seizing the chance, Nami has Sanji carry her and uses the Clima-Tact to send a gust into the bloated Zeus, forcing an enormous thunderbolt that crashes onto Big Mom. The broadcast stretches out the woodland skirmish and lets Jinbe alongside the Retrieval Team defeat the pursuit squad in combat, reserving Zeus' lightning for Big Mom alone. The installment belongs to the Whole Cake Island Arc and first aired on July 21, 2018.
