With Big Mom now chasing the Fire Tank Pirates, the Sunny crew presses on toward Cacao Island, though Sanji warns them their enemies already know of the rendezvous. At Cacao Island a vast Big Mom force assembles and Oven lays a snare for Luffy. Inside the Mirro-World, Flampe's quiet interference at last draws blood, leaving Luffy gravely hurt even as his Observation Haki keeps growing.

Flampe strikes Luffy's leg with a blowdart that numbs the limb, robbing him of the chance to evade Mochi Tsuki as Katakuri's Mogura tears open his side. Disappointed yet relentless, Katakuri buries Luffy under Muso Donut fists while Flampe gloats in secret. On Whole Cake Island, Mont-d'Or rallies the Tartes to swarm Cacao Island, and Perospero divides the fleets so his and Bavarois' ships shadow Big Mom and Bege while Smoothie's force is sent to sink the Sunny before it lands. Smoothie, joined by Citron and Cinnamon, closes in, prompting Sanji to hatch a rescue plan. Oven orders every mirror on Cacao Island destroyed so that Luffy can only emerge from a single remaining one, threatening the families of any who refuse. Buoyed by recalling Rayleigh's teaching that Observation Haki is an extension of imagination meant to become instinct, Luffy rises again and dodges Flampe's far stronger second needle, alerting Katakuri that the two of them are not alone.

An animation slip appears near the 16:05 mark, where a single frame drops two of the four background ships behind Smoothie's vessel. The adaptation adds Mont-d'Or dispatching ships to Cacao Island and Flampe boasting about her second needle's potency before firing, and her fantasy about Katakuri is lengthened. Luffy's legs are depicted with more blood in the manga than in this version.
