Oven's heat tendrils unmask the trick and make the fish-man cough the ship back up, yet his old comrades surge upward to defend it again. Unwilling to forsake the men he once led, the helmsman requests his captain's permission to hold the rear. Luffy agrees on a single term, that the fish-man rejoin the crew once they arrive at Wano Country, and the Sun Pirates together raise a mighty current that hurls the Sunny well past the pursuing fleet.

Away on Funwari Island, a contented, shrunken Big Mom lies in a daze, oblivious to Perospero's news about the Fire Tank Pirates slipping away. Grasping that the wreck was a feint, the enemy fleet resumes the chase, with Wadatsumi absorbing cannon fire and apologizing for his old misdeeds on Fish-Man Island. Aladine wrestles Oven and is beaten down, so the helmsman plunges in to catch his comrade and insists they all live through this. As the Yonko speeds toward Cacao Island longing to harvest Luffy's soul, Bege's group sails off aboard a Tarte. The fish-men then whip up a whirlpool and a swelling current, and from his vantage overhead, Morgans cheers, certain a Pirate King will emerge from one of the Worst Generation.

The adaptation provides the Big Mom Pirates assuming the crew destroyed, Wadatsumi shielding the ship from cannon fire after releasing it, Aladine sinking a Paddle Ship via Ocean Current Shoulder Throw and striking Oven with Water Shot, plus extra beats in his bout with the commander. It establishes on screen that Aladine wields Fish-Man Karate. A noted error has Morgans rattle off the Worst Generation while leaving out Zoro, an oversight fixed in a later revision of the episode. The installment sits within the Whole Cake Island Arc.
