Breed Pirates

The Breed Pirates are an anime-original band started by Breed. Their Jolly Roger pairs the upper half of a cracked human skull with a spiked blue collar where the jaw should be, a nod to how Breed dominates his subordinates, set against a purple X. The captain sailed a huge metal-hulled vessel fitted with an aquarium chamber, submarine docks, prison cells, and speakers he used to broadcast orders his slaves could never ignore.

The crew's true strength lay in Breed's Peto Peto no Mi, which let him enslave others and even bulk up his own muscle and power. While he held the Sea Animal Pirates under his control, they posed a genuine challenge to the Straw Hat Pirates. Breed's ambition stretched far past one crew: by kidnapping Caesar Clown he hoped to mass-produce SMILEs, transform everyone on earth into animals, and bind the entire world to him as a single herd of slaves.

Breed originally commanded a human crew, but they mutinied and threw him overboard, leaving him to drift on a small boat and vow never to trust people again. He then chained the Sea Animal Pirates to his will as a replacement. His scheme unraveled when Law deduced that plugging one's ears broke the Devil Fruit's hold, freeing himself, Luffy, and Caesar. A cornered Breed used his power on himself and bulked into a brute, only for Luffy to defeat him, liberate the Sea Animal Pirates, and end the crew.
