Overview

This squad was composed of centaurs, humans whose crippled legs had been swapped for working animal limbs through Trafalgar Law's Ope Ope no Mi powers. At their head stood Brownbeard, an alligator centaur. The group ultimately served Caesar Clown, who set them to patrolling Punk Hazard and intercepting any trespassers. Brownbeard would later rise up against Caesar after discovering how thoroughly he had been deceived, with many fellow centaurs abandoned outside to perish in the H2S experiment.

Role

The unit functioned as Caesar's frontline guard on the divided island. When the Straw Hat Pirates arrived, a leopard and a giraffe centaur were sent after them on Monet's orders and easily beaten. The leopard centaur later raised the alarm, and Brownbeard's group fired bazookas at the pirates crossing the lake between the burning and freezing halves, only for Brook to freeze their barrels into backfiring. Taken hostage and stripped of their warm coats, Brownbeard explained his history with Caesar and Law before the scientist began betraying his own men, gassing some and ordering Brownbeard's death. As Smiley wreaked havoc, the unit clashed repeatedly with the G-5 Marines and the Straw Hats, rallying around Caesar even as he treated them as expendable guinea pigs.

Notable Members

Brownbeard, the alligator centaur, led the group and grew disillusioned as Caesar's treachery mounted, eventually charging at the scientist to protect Usopp and Nami and being shot down for it before Luffy intervened to save him. Other members included Run, swiftly defeated by Luffy during the lab infiltration, along with various leopard, giraffe, and other animal-themed centaurs. In the aftermath, Brownbeard chose to surrender to the Marines for medical care, since Caesar had poisoned his subordinates, and Smoker permitted him to search the island for those frozen in the Shinokuni.
