On Air Pirates

This rookie band came to wider notice on the Sabaody Archipelago around the period the Straw Hats reached it, placing them firmly within the Worst Generation. Their captain is Scratchmen Apoo, and over the timeskip the crew quietly pledged itself to Kaidou's Beasts Pirates.

Their jolly roger reworks a classic skull, swapping the upper teeth for a wave of piano keys that mirror Apoo's own grin, finished with his braided hair tail and a lightning bolt where crossbones would sit. They sail aboard the Stay Tune, a music-themed vessel fitted with a giant horn figurehead, speaker arrays, drum-shaped crow's nests, and a radio-tower cabin.

The crew's strength can be gauged from their captain's hefty bounty and the simple fact that they pushed all the way through the Grand Line into the New World. They also slipped away from Kizaru's raid at Sabaody even after the Admiral struck Apoo down. Most of the unnamed crewmates dress in Qizhuang or Manfu inspired garb echoing Apoo's own attire, just in differing colors.

Their alliance with the Kid and Hawkins crews was never genuine. Apoo's loyalty already lay with Kaidou, and the whole pact was engineered as a trap to drag the other two crews into subordination beneath the Beasts Pirates as well.

Scratchmen Apoo leads the crew, fittingly resembling a DJ in both look and fighting stance. At Sabaody he watched fellow Supernovas display their powers before throwing himself at Kizaru and losing. The crew later breached Big Mom's Totto Land only to retreat, and proposed their false alliance with Kid and Hawkins to feign a strike against an Emperor. After Jack's defeat at Zou, Apoo reported the lost contact to Kaidou, and he and his crew eventually returned to Wano alongside the Numbers for the Fire Festival on Onigashima.
