An oversized blade scaled to the giant battle robot General Franky. Franky rarely draws on swordplay, yet the weapon has held firm against heavy hits and anchors a pair of robot combat techniques.
Franken is the sword Franky brings to bear when seated inside his colossal mecha, the General Franky. To match the machine's enormous frame, the blade is built on a giant scale. Its grip is colored red and patterned with yellow diamonds, and the design forgoes any cross-guard at all.
Because Franky has next to no formal training with a blade, he reaches for Franken only occasionally. Even so, the sword has proven sturdy, withstanding Sasaki's whirling Karakuri Rasento, and in a non-canon outing it sliced clean through a Shiro Kuma in one stroke. Franky channels it through robot maneuvers such as General Ashimoto Dangerous, where the crouched General Franky spins its torso to sweep the low-held blade at enemies' legs before peppering them with shoulder cannons, and Shori no V-Flash, an overhead two-handed swing that carves a glowing V across an opponent's chest.
Franky wields Franken exclusively through the General Franky, first drawing it against members of the New Fish-Man Pirates and later using its V-shaped slash on Sasaki. The name fuses Franky with the Japanese word for sword and is taken as a play on Frankenstein.
