Chapter 1062

Aboard the Thousand Sunny, the crew presses the woman piloting the giant robot about whether she truly is the legendary scientist. She corrects them: she is not the central Vegapunk, only a satellite called Lilith, and her aim is to rob the pirates to top up her chronically thin research funds. A voice on the line, another satellite named Shaka, stops her cold, cautioning that an Emperor's crew should never be taken lightly and that Zoro and Robin stayed calm precisely because they could shred her mechanical Sea Beasts. Shaka instead invites the pirates in as guests.

On the island itself, Jewelry Bonney leads Luffy's party to the surface and admits her grudge: the doctor remade her father into a cyborg and stripped away his sense of self, and she intends to demand answers, or kill him. The group stumbles into a futuristic amusement park where the monsters and desserts turn out to be holograms, infuriating a hungry Luffy. A towering young woman appears, reveals an Automatic Cooking Machine that produces real food, and demonstrates Light-Pressure Gloves that let her strike the projected images. She names herself yet another Vegapunk, Atlas. Far away, CP0 operatives Lucci, Stussy, and Kaku ferry a Kuma-modeled Seraphim toward Egghead, briefed to wipe out every Vegapunk body while preserving the lab.

Kaku spells out that a single genius split himself into six satellite bodies to multiply his output, each one still him. Lucci muses that the order to erase the world's smartest man may trace back to the Lulusia disaster, a question his colleagues warn him not to voice. The chapter opens with a Germa 66 cover side-story showing Chocolat Town frozen solid. Early printings carried two art errors, a mislabeled "PUNK-06" on Atlas and black hair on the Lunarian Seraphim, both later acknowledged as mistakes.
