Chapter 111

Igaram is staggered by Nami's demand of a billion Belly to guard Vivi. With Luffy still asleep, Zoro wonders why Nami is not passed out from the party's drinks, only for her to reveal she faked her drunkenness, never trusting the suspicious Whisky Peak townsfolk. She presses Igaram on whether he can actually guarantee payment, reminding him the princess could die without their aid.

After some haggling, Igaram says the sum must be settled with Vivi once she reaches Arabasta safely. Nami then orders Zoro to protect the princess. He balks, arguing the money scheme is her problem, until she dangles forgiveness of the interest on a loan she made him back in Loguetown, and he reluctantly agrees. Across town, Vivi flees Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine on Karoo's back, with Miss Monday sacrificing herself to buy time before being downed by a single exploding clothesline.

Mr. 5 reveals he is a living bomb, having eaten the Bomu Bomu no Mi, and fires a flicked booger as his Nose Fancy Cannon. Zoro slices it apart, rescuing Vivi, who at first mistakes him for an enemy and attacks before he explains he came to save her. Meanwhile Igaram details Baroque Works to Nami, and Luffy, returning from relieving himself, is shocked by something he spots.

Nami confirms she only pretended to be drunk so she would never lower her guard. Mr. 5 is revealed as the Bomu Bomu no Mi user. Miss Monday gives herself up trying to shield Vivi. Igaram exposes Mr. 0, the codename of Baroque Works' hidden boss, and Zoro begins guarding Vivi. Luffy, having watched Zoro strike down the Whisky Peak townspeople, develops a grudge and challenges his crewmate.

Igaram describes Baroque Works as a secret syndicate whose members never learn their leader's true face, taking orders from intelligence work to assassination in pursuit of an ideal nation, where lower agent numbers mark greater rank and strength. The cover is a color spread of the crew exploring half-sunken ruins by moonlight as an anaconda pack-mule tries to swipe Luffy's meat. The first story page ran in full color in its original Weekly Shonen Jump printing, and Nami's color-spread outfit was later reused in Movie 3 and the game Unlimited Adventure.
