Slotted into the Paramecia category, this Devil Fruit lets the eater blow up any portion of themselves, be it limbs, hair, mucus, or even a breath or cough, which makes them a Bomb Human. Its original owner was Ganzui, and after the fruit reincarnated it passed to Gem, far better known under his Baroque Works codename Mr. 5. VIZ renders it the Boom-Boom Fruit after the noise of a blast, while the 4Kids, Funimation, and Odex dubs call it the Bomb-Bomb Fruit. The fruit resembles a dark purple apple ringed with S-shaped swirls and topped by a tattered yellow stem, giving it the look of a classic round bomb with a lit fuse.

The chief strength here is that its holder can set off their whole body or individual limbs like a living explosive, unleashing blasts that hurt everything except the user. That explosive property carries into things the body emits, such as mucus and breath, opening up ranged options for anyone who weaponizes those substances. On top of that, the power renders its owner immune to every other explosion, cannonballs included, and even lets them judge an explosive's quality, as when Gem griped that the flavor of Usopp's Gunpowder Star was poor, blaming the low-grade gunpowder behind it. The detonation only fires when the user chooses or makes contact, so Zoro and Luffy have both struck Gem without triggering a blast. Despite the explosion immunity, the user has no special resistance to fire. Beyond that, only the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses apply.

Ganzui, the original owner, flicked grime off his body and hurled it as long-range explosive blasts, seen in his God Valley technique Skysnake Red Cannon that defeated John. Gem uses the fruit much the same way, flicking his own mucus for ranged strikes or detonating his arms, legs, or entire body up close, though he oddly rolls up his sleeves first. He often teams with Mikita, since his blasts give her the momentum her own power needs, and he will swallow incoming explosives to shield his allies, a habit a clever foe can exploit by feeding him a fake. A revolver lets him fire his explosive breath as rapid bullets. His named moves include Nose Fancy Cannon and its two-handed Double Cannon variant, both flicking dried nasal mucus that bursts on contact; Kicky Bomb, a leg-detonating kick; Breeze Breath Bomb, his self-described ultimate, firing exploding breath from a pistol; and Zenshin Kibaku, a bear-hug followed by a full-body detonation so violent it leaves no bones, which Zoro cut short before Gem could land it on Usopp.
