While Chopper and Bonney struggle with an oversized volume, Saul identifies the owl that watches the hall as Biblo, the creature behind every book's growth, a feat Lilith pins on his Iku Iku no Mi powers. The island's own medical texts, he adds, will always remain enlarged. Outdoors, Luffy flings a swing far too high and scares two young giants along with Usopp, earning a thrashing from Nami. To Usopp he grumbles about how docile Elbaph has become, and Usopp concedes the point yet sees nothing wrong with it.

At that moment Colon takes a wooden sword to Luffy's skull, snapping the toy in half. Luffy retorts with an Elephant Gun fist slammed into the earth beside the boy, which leaves the other children aghast but delights Colon. Biblo is named the Owl Library's head keeper, able to enlarge its books by way of his Devil Fruit, the Iku Iku no Mi. At the Walrus School, Colon is shown to have Ripley for a mother and a human for a father. The two hooded figures, faced by giant guards at Aurust Castle, reveal their hunt for Loki, one wielding a power that binds a target with wraps. The Straw Hats share a banquet with the giants in the Western Village, and for the first time Jarul appears in present-day events.

Stansen's reappearance ties back to the Sabaody slave market, where Luffy once set him free, and the weapon lodged in Jarul's head hints at earlier bloodshed tied to Loki.
