Summary

As the Marines rush the World Nobles to safety, several onlookers hope to exploit the disorder and slip away. The Roger Pirates hunt frantically for Shakky, while Rocks fixes his worry on Teach and his wife Eris. Garp keeps his aim squarely on Roger. Hiding his face through the turmoil, Dragon looks for a Marine ship he can board with both Shanks and Shamrock. Before he can act, a shooter from among the Knights of God puts a round through his shoulder. She is a saint of the Satchels Family named Maffey, sent by whoever had been charged with watching over Garling's children. She scoops up the Shamrock that Dragon dropped, unaware that Shanks lay tucked out of sight, and, wondering how a man like Garling could father anyone, shifts to killing Dragon, ignorant of who he really is. Though he wanted to keep her from taking the children and to atone for his part in the atrocity, Dragon ultimately resigns himself to his fate.

Key Events

Before Maffey can land the final blow, Newgate's stray strike slices her in two and inadvertently spares Dragon. He watches Newgate, Linlin, Shiki, and Kaidou storm ahead until rival pirates hoping to make a name for themselves swarm the four, only to be swatted aside with ease. Dragon tries to steal away but spots Shanks unconscious on the ground, having struck his head, and resolves that if he cannot save the brother he can at least save this one. Garp then arrives and lays into the four, who attempt to flee. Linlin's Homies fail to hold Garp back, and her Heavenly Fire Blitz leaves him unmoved, while Maffey departs with Shamrock believing Dragon dead. Near the center, the Marines realize they will soon be trapped, with the Rocks Pirates bearing down out of the southeast while the Roger Pirates close in from the opposite northwest.

Notes

Sommers orders the Marines to spirit Shakky off the island, only to learn she has beaten every guard set over her despite her handcuffs. Loathing women who know their own worth, he strikes her down and decides to kill her outright so that neither Garling nor the pirates can claim the prize, savoring the despair her rescuers will feel. He promises five blows, yet as the first descends Rayleigh bursts in and blasts him away with Higanbana, offers his hand, and tells her he came, at which she weeps into his arms before the Roger Pirates ready their flight. The chapter sits within the Elbaph Arc's God Valley flashback. John is shown wielding a mechanical right hand whose magnetic pull recalls how Eustass Kid handles his own Jiki Jiki fruit. Its color spread grants a fan request of Luffy and Usopp at a Chopper crane game, and the cover serial continues with a shrine listing fallen Wano heroes.
