Shepherd Sommers

Tall, muscular, and elderly, Sommers has a wrinkled face, a bulbous nose, a somewhat hairy body, and long orange-blonde hair tied into pigtails. A short beard shaped like a crucifix sits below his mouth. Plain glasses cover his eyes off-duty, traded for red-tinted sunglasses on missions, and his left arm bears an elaborate tattoo.

His Knights of God uniform is a purple tunic bound by gold cords and hung with medals, a rose pinned to the left breast, and pentagrams scattered across the cloth. He wears long white gloves, thigh-high purple boots, and a black and red coat with a furred collar draped over his shoulders, plus a white armband marked with the order's insignia. A thorn-guarded sword hangs at his side. Beneath it all lies a steel mechanical heart fitted with a gauge, hinting at cybernetic modification.

Sommers is a twisted sadist who delights in the suffering of those below him. He frames love itself as mutual harm and finds beauty in tragedies such as a parent dying for a child, growing so excited at the prospect that he weeps with laughter. He has no qualms about threatening or killing children to force their parents' compliance, and he enjoys mocking the helpless.

Wholly committed to the World Government and loyal to Imu, he still places his own pleasure above the mission when given the chance, and he is willing to let his ruler take the blame for his blunders to save himself. He dismisses Nika as a children's fairy tale, has his own dense and comic moments, and turns cowardly against any foe truly able to defeat him.

As a World Noble Sommers can summon an Admiral against anyone who crosses him, but his place in the Knights of God makes him a formidable fighter in his own right. He overpowered the former Vice Admiral Saul without taking damage and defeated Nico Robin with ease, though the world's elite, among them Scopper Gaban, Silvers Rayleigh, Luffy, and Loki, outclass him.

His Devil Fruit is the Iba Iba no Mi, a Paramecia power that lets him create and steer thorny vines, bind targets, blanket a battlefield in oversized thorns, and shape an enormous thorn-covered club; the thorns can even be rendered invisible. A covenant with Imu grants him near-instant regeneration, Abyss travel, and, once Imu bestows an Omen, the enhanced "Super Sommers" state with great leaping power, winged flight, and immense carrying strength. His steel heart keeps beating apart from his body and appears tied to his immortality, while Scopper Gaban's Supreme King Haki proved able to slow his regeneration.
