Chapter 328

Sanji and Chopper travel together after reuniting, with Chopper apologizing for losing Robin. Sanji grows uneasy realizing the masked figure he saw earlier was not Chopper, recalling Aokiji's warning, and the two head back toward the Going Merry where Zoro sits awake. At Dock 1, Luffy offers Galley-La any sum to mend the ship, but Kaku calls it a miracle she even reached Water 7. Paulie describes the keel as the vessel's lifeline, and because it cannot be replaced, the Going Merry is little more than scrap wood.

Refusing to abandon the ship, Luffy insists on continuing to sail her, while Iceburg explains the danger that stubbornness poses to the whole crew. Hattori adds that no two boats are ever identical, just as no two trees are alike, so an exact remake is impossible, though the company can sell them a new ship with the money they hold. Kalifa hands Luffy a catalog. Peepley Lulu then reports visitors at the gate, who barge in as World Government officers, sending Luffy and Nami scrambling to hide. Their leader Corgi claims to smell pirates but lets it go, demanding instead to speak with Iceburg.

Once Iceburg leaves with the officers, Luffy notices the suitcases feel oddly light and finds both empty, while Peepley Lulu recalls glimpsing the long nosed Usopp among the Franky Family. Realizing Usopp was abducted, Luffy races off and Nami gets the Franky House location from Paulie. Heading back to gather help, Nami instead finds a crowd around a badly beaten Usopp dumped in the street. He tearfully apologizes for losing the money, and she promises they will get it back.
