Chapter 349

While the craftsmen pull one another clear of the blaze, those trapped in Iceburg's bedroom watch Lucci shift his body through the leopard-model Neko Neko no Mi. Risen to a towering height, he tells them that beast-type eaters differ from other fruit users by hardening their bodies through training, growing stronger the more they push. Chopper warns that the meat-eating beast types tend to be the cruelest of all. A lone Rankyaku from Lucci slices through the upper stories and sends them tumbling down.

Nami and Chopper scramble from the wreckage, and Chopper pushes Nami to safety an instant before the ceiling falls and buries him. As she claws through the debris hunting for her crewmate, Paulie reaches Iceburg, but the agents block their way out. Luffy lands a strike before Lucci can set his Tekkai, yet the now claw-handed leopard runs the captain through with Shigan and flings him off into Water 7. Zoro's blade glances harmlessly off the same Tekkai, and he is hurled away to share Luffy's fate.

Outside, the unaware carpenters cling to the hope that Iceburg has been led to safety, until one notices an unconscious Nami who tumbled from the third floor and recognizes her as one of the pirates. Roped up and senseless, Iceburg and Paulie are abandoned beside a grieving Tyrannosaurus. From a nearby roof, Lucci observes the fire, remarking that no witness survives to dispute his version of events, and reasons that a single citizen ought never to stand against so mighty a government before the agents move on to take the plans from Tom's second pupil, Franky.
