Chapter 392

More of Robin's childhood comes to light. Newly named a scholar, the young archaeologist is warned away from the forbidden research that consumed her mother, then finds an unexpected friend washed up on the beach.

Professor Clover gives Robin her archaeologist badge and explains Ohara's significance, but turns stern when she says she wants to study the Void Century. The scholars have forbidden her from joining their work, knowing their research carries a death sentence and refusing to let her share that fate. As she runs off, another researcher remarks that she is walking her mother Olvia's path, and that Olvia has already been captured.

On the shore, Robin meets a giant who wakes and asks for water. He introduces himself as Jaguar D. Saul, distinguishing himself from the savage giants of Elbaph, and asks her to keep his presence secret. Over the following nights he shares food and laughs his odd "Dereshishishi." When Robin asks what the D in his name means, he says only that his family carries it. Meanwhile, in the West Blue, CP9 under Spandine receives a call from Marine Headquarters, which Spandine irritably tells them to ignore.

This chapter introduces Jaguar D. Saul and confirms Robin's mother, Nico Olvia, has been captured. It also reveals Spandam's father, Spandine, leading the CP9 of that era, and ties the Will of D into the narrative through Saul's name. The cover continues the Baroque Works subplot, with Hina's caging powers countering Mr. 2's close-quarters style.
