Chapter 483

Alarm grips everyone as the forms of Zoro, Robin, Sanji, and a still-shrunken Luffy start dissolving along with several Rolling Pirates, and Franky cannot fathom why this is happening when Moria has already lost. Somewhere out on the sea a captain who shuns daylight is told by his crew that the shadows Moria took two years earlier have come back, and the ship erupts in celebration. Around the globe pirates, marines, and townsfolk alike feel their shadows return and rejoice. On the island the fading bodies of the crew snap back to normal, and with everyone whole once more the Straw Hats finally collapse into the rest they have earned.

Inside the castle, Hogback wakes Absalom and breaks the news of their loss. Out in the yard, Chopper explains that shrinking is a Gear 3 side effect, which leaves Usopp worried that the brutal style is wearing Luffy's body down. The grateful old man, Lola, and the Rolling Pirates vow never to forget the rescue, though Zoro insists the crew only acted in their own interest. Nami's dread comes roaring back as she recalls that one Warlord is still here. Perched on a rooftop, Kuma speaks through a Den Den Mushi to a government figure who frets that a stand-in for Crocodile has only just been arranged. Ordered to leave no one alive who saw Moria fall, Kuma teleports into the gathering, knocks would-be attackers flat with a cannon blast from his hand, and names Zoro as the first to die.

Every shadow Moria stole returns to its rightful owner as Luffy passes out. Hogback and Absalom come to and resolve to flee the island. The World Government is shown to have lined up an unnamed successor to Crocodile, and to protect the Warlords' standing it orders Kuma to kill all present so word of the defeat never spreads. The chapter closes on Kuma calling out Zoro.
