Chapter 567, titled "Marineford Marine Headquarters - Oris Plaza," pushes the Whitebeard forces into the plaza as the admirals lock down the front line. Luffy is hurled back, Whitebeard squares off with Akainu, and Garp blocks the road to Ace.
The opening color spread reimagines the Straw Hat crew as fruit themed superheroes before the action turns to the plaza assault. Whitebeard winds up for a crushing strike, only for Aokiji to encase him in ice. Shaking off the freeze, the old captain strikes back, and when the admiral readies a counter, Jozu barrels in to take the fight off his hands. The two settle into their own duel.
Driving toward the scaffold, Luffy is intercepted by the vice admirals Momonga and Dalmatian. Kizaru then kicks him aside, dismissing raw nerve as not enough to win. Whitebeard catches the battered teen midair, hands him off to his men, and tells him he has given plenty. Luffy stubbornly tries to press on before passing out from exhaustion, drawing a quiet remark of fondness from Whitebeard. The captain rounds on Akainu next, trading a magma fist for a shattering air quake, while Marco in phoenix form is swatted out of the sky by Garp.
Aokiji and Jozu commit to a separate clash. Luffy, overworked past his limit, finally collapses and is pulled out of the front line by Whitebeard's crew. Garp openly enters the battle, planting himself as the obstacle between the pirates and Ace's rescue. Whitebeard and Akainu begin their personal confrontation.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...
The chapter carries a color spread, and because the prior chapter had one too, this marks the first occasion of two consecutive color spreads, or arguably three if the separately released Chapter 0 is counted. The cover assigns each Straw Hat a fruit motif, with Luffy as apple, Zoro as melon, Nami as orange, and so on. The events adapt into Episode 476.
