Nine Pirates

A flashback aboard the Kuja ship has Hancock urging Luffy to keep a low profile on Sabaody, since the events of two years prior left his face notorious. He bids the Kuja goodbye and promises Hancock he will return, a line she reads as a marriage proposal until Nyon sets her straight. In the present, the counterfeit Luffy crows about his enormous bounty and orders the real Luffy to kneel and apologize for the earlier collision. Luffy simply excuses himself and walks off; when the impostor fires, he slips the bullet with ease and drops the whole group into unconsciousness through Haki alone.

Robin arrives at the Sunny, remarking that the ship sat untouched for two full years, and is met by an overhauled Franky, who jokes this may be both his first and his last body upgrade. The two cover several topics, Robin being the eighth to make it back and the coating Rayleigh applied, before Franky wonders aloud whether Brook, riding his newfound fame, will ever come back to the pirate's road. Brook is glimpsed mid-performance.

The fake crew stirs awake. Their leader steels himself to find Luffy, Nami, and Usopp, only to learn the false Robin has been abducted. He writes her off, which enrages the watching Chopper, still certain these are his real crewmates, and the reindeer charges off to save her. Hidden Marines, persuaded by Chopper's company that the frauds are authentic, radio G-1 that the crew lives, sending Sentomaru toward the island with two Pacifistas. The chapter ends as Sanji spots a one-eyed Zoro hauling himself out of the water, having accidentally boarded then bisected a coated pirate vessel.

This marks the first time Luffy deliberately uses Conqueror's Haki to fell a crowd, a fight he wins without ever throwing a punch. The impostor mentions that Luffy's bounty has climbed to four hundred million, presumably owing to Impel Down and Marineford. The genuine name of the fake Robin, Cocoa, comes to light, and Franky unveils his complete new design. Sentomaru returns after the timeskip, now a Marine; the Sunny stands ready with upgraded armaments; and a fisherman suggests Zoro may have lost sight in his left eye.

The cover answers a reader's request, depicting Luffy lulled to sleep by sheep while his food is pilfered. Zoro's scar is now drawn correctly over his left eye, and the recruitment poster's earlier misspelling of his captain's name is fixed. Zoro slicing the vessel in half echoes the way Mihawk once split the ship belonging to Don Krieg.
